I'm a Los Angeles-based designer and creative director (by way of Houston and Nebraska)
I am currently serving as digital product designer at KPCC (Southern California Public Radio), where I lead design and work to further innovation and promote inclusivity in public media. I also oversee branding and UX as creative director for Jean Franklin, an ethical/sustainable clothing and homeware line.
My previous design experience includes Houston Public Media, 42, Double Triple, One Percent Productions, the University of Nebraska Press, the Daily Nebraskan, the Bourbon Theatre and numerous freelance assignments. I've also worked as an adjunct instructor at Southeast Community College, teaching color theory and corporate identity. I received my Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Some of my favorite design-related things include working to increase my sense of user empathy; creating patterns, color palettes or collages; conducting user testing. I also love trying new recipes, listening to the (literal) hundreds of podcasts in my queue and pet-parenting my fat cat, Nacho.
